AIMVETS Mission is “teaching incarcerated veterans to think with a moral perspective, making them model inmates and productive members of society upon release.” We do this by reaching out to veterans, both male and female, who are incarcerated in the Texas Prison System and teach them to recognize and reflect on their past actions/mistakes, identify ways to change their behavior to achieve positive results and to prepare them to once again enter society; a society which in many cases, has drastically changed since their incarceration.
There are many organizations that serve veterans, but AIMVETS is one of the few that serve incarcerated veterans. Those incarcerated veterans served our country, but then made errors in judgement that resulted in incarceration.
They, too, should not be forgotten.
